…thank you.
I am however not taking part in the competition.
I have seen bloggers go all out to capture the award, only to burn out soon after. See for example Ivo Vegter’s The Spike, a great blog and last year’s runner up. Now silent.
This blog I intend to keep going for as long as I do. You gotta pace yourself. Life is far more like cricket than baseball. So is blogging.
Which is partly why I don’t limit this blog to only one subject matter – politics. Blogging is hard work. And writing about all you find interesting is one way to keep it from becoming tedious and repetitive exercise.

I was looking at the candidates and to my dismay you didn’t make the shortlist (i think)
So you are spared your ‘Marlon Brando moment’. You needn’t boycott or anything like that.
I think it is really great somebody nominated you though. I completely forgot to join though I did vote for a couple of ones. De Vos and Alex Matthews.
I like your advice on the general blogging, especially for people like myself whose emotional well being is tied to the vitality of the political system. It might get me out of my own silent rut.
Hopefully this test match ain’t headed for a draw.
