Kameraad Mhambi gets some press

October 27th, 2009 · 2 Comments · art & culture, the power of identity

The South African, a newspaper based in London today ran an article with an interview with me! – Kameraad Mhambi.

The interviewer was one Murray Hunter, a masters student in anthropology at London’s SOAS and who also blogs (The link above is to his blog actually). Here is a little bit from the interview:

““To live somewhere you never really feel like you belong is a terrible thing,” he says.

But in 2006, after eight years in the UK (and a brief stint in Montreal), Kameraad Mhambi started blogging about South African politics. “It was like a little bit of therapy for myself,” says the Kameraad, giving a throaty laugh. “I think the psychological term is The Talking Cure.””

Yes, all of us – especially South Africans – could do with some therapy.
